Inspired by Gregor Samsa, the main character of Kafka's novel The Metamorphosis. It's about a young man who wakes up one morning and finds himself turned into an insect. Loved the book and the impression it made on me.

"Earlier, when the door had been barred, they had all wanted to come in to him; now, when he had opened one door and when the others had obviously been opened during the day, no one came any more, and now the keys were stuck in the locks on the outside."

----this is how I see it: when you open up to people, they don't always like what they see, they don't understand it and fear it. That's what happened to Gregor, rejection from his own family, people supposedly closest to him.
